Datacenter Hardware Engineer, Hardware Validation

Break hardware in the lab before production traffic breaks it for you

We’re looking for engineers who enjoy building systems specifically designed to find weaknesses — thermal limits, race conditions, firmware regressions, marginal hardware, and manufacturing defects — before they escape into the fleet.

You’ll design validation infrastructure, automate stress testing, and help set the quality bar for every platform we deploy.

What you’ll do

  • Design and execute validation plans for servers, storage, and rack hardware.
  • Develop automated test systems for thermal, power, networking, and storage qualification.
  • Reproduce and isolate hardware and firmware failures in lab environments.
  • Build tooling for diagnostics, regression testing, and manufacturing validation.
  • Partner with platform and firmware teams to improve overall hardware quality.
  • Define release criteria for production deployment readiness.

Requirements

  • Experience validating hardware platforms or embedded systems.
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Ability to build repeatable, automated testing workflows.
  • Careful attention to detail and strong investigative instincts.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Python, Go, or Bash automation.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing, thermal chambers, or stress qualification.
  • Knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, memory systems, or networking protocols.
  • Experience building hardware test infrastructure at scale.
