Datacenter Hardware Engineer, Systems Architecture

Design infrastructure that survives real-world operations at scale

We’re looking for engineers who can bridge the gap between hardware design and real-world deployment. You’ll help shape server and rack platforms that are not only fast and efficient, but maintainable, reliable, and practical to operate at scale.

This is a systems-thinking role for engineers who care about the entire machine lifecycle, not just individual components.

What you’ll do

  • Review server and rack designs for reliability, serviceability, and operational simplicity.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, thermal, and firmware engineers on platform architecture decisions.
  • Evaluate prototypes and identify risks before manufacturing or deployment.
  • Improve hardware ergonomics, accessibility, airflow, and maintenance workflows.
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers to improve production consistency and quality.
  • Feed operational lessons back into future hardware platform designs.

Requirements

  • Experience with server hardware, rack systems, or infrastructure platform engineering.
  • Strong understanding of datacenter operational constraints and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Ability to evaluate tradeoffs between performance, reliability, cost, and maintainability.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with mechanical integration or thermal engineering.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and DFM/DFA principles.
  • Background in hyperscale infrastructure or custom hardware platforms.
  • Experience working directly with ODMs or hardware suppliers.
